Making the scary leap into the world of small business

I’ve been invited to join Gareth & Nikki at the High Peak Network (for cringe-free networking) on Friday 12th July to meet with members and share some of my story.

I made the scary leap in 2014, jumping from a senior role as Head of Communications in the steel and mining industry, spending most of my time either on an Air France flight, staying in a Hilton hotel or visiting steel factories and service centres around the world, to running my own consultancy and coaching business LR Comms and working in my little office on the side of a hill in Whaley Bridge.

Nearly 10 years on, even though I know how hard and lonely it can be when you’re running a small business, and what a rollercoaster ride it can be with such incredible highs and lows, I also know that I am completely unemployable today and absolutely LOVE what I do.

I’m looking forward to meeting with other small business owners and those people who might be thinking about making the leap, chatting through more of the behind the scenes scenarios and hopefully dispelling some of the myths about what’s important and what ‘success’ actually means.

The event is totally FREE - however you need to make sure you get your ticket and reserve your place by clicking on the button below:

If you’re coming please let me know and if you have any questions or there’s anything that you’d like me to talk about in particular, then please get in touch beforehand at lucy@lrcomms.co.uk
